The Joanna is a multifaceted, multidisciplinary art gallery and collective in the heart of Houston.

More than a typical space, more than anything else, The Joanna is a collaboration: not just between Cody Ledvina and Brian Rod but the entire arts community. Devoted to emerging art and artists of types not generally seen in the Houston area commercial and institutional spectra, the Joanna is a community project, neither limited in scope nor medium.

As much as we are a community project, we are a community. Rather than “just a gallery,” The Joanna serves as a forum, a place for artists young and old to interact with each other and with lovers of art from all backgrounds.

Finally, The Joanna was conceived with the idea that art – be it making art, showing art, and viewing art – is fun. In an art scene that can be testy or anxiety-inducing sometimes, we promise to never lose sight of that fact.
